"My goal is to share the charm, natural beauty, and elevated fruitarian life I experienced on a recent two month trip to Bali and Lombok, Indonesia. I would like to create a sympathetic and sensitive raw community, where like-minds can relax, share the joy of our raw lives, and enjoy one of the most beautiful and human places on Earth." -- Rob Miller

Overview

Bali is a lush, mountainous island in the Indonesian archipelago boasting dramatic volcanoes, white and black sand beaches, fresh water springs, ample sunshine, cooling breezes, fertile land, and an incredible abundance and variety of delicious tropical fruits. It is not only a tropical paradise, but a fruitarian paradise as well.

Balinese are warm, friendly people with a fascinating and unique Hindu culture. Their sense of spirituality permeates all aspects of life; there are actually more temples in Bali than houses! Art of all types is deeply interwoven with the fabric of their communal and spiritual life. It seems almost everyone is either a musician, dancer, weaver, sculptor, painter, or some other type of artist.

The Raw Foods Vacation in Bali is an opportunity for raw foodists, or anyone seriously interested in a raw foods experience, to relax and enjoy a vacation in the company of like-minded people. Different from an intensive or retreat, our emphasis is on creating a safe, natural, raw environment for quality leisure time.

There will be a small number of daily classes and discussion groups centered around raw food diet and lifestyle, yoga, a tropical fruit trek, options for many other interesting treks and tours, performances by Balinese musicians and dancers, a Wayan Kulit (shadow puppet) show, classes and options for private instruction on various aspects of Balinese culture, and best of all, plenty of unstructured free time to do as much or as little as you like.

Puri Lumbung Cottages is located just outside the peaceful village of Munduk on the hilly slopes below Lake Tamblingan. It is a sparsely populated area of tremendous natural beauty. Puri Lumbung is a unique eco-sensitive and community-sensitive project that combines the efforts of the people of Munduk and the School of Tourism Bali. The traditional Balinese style cottages and facilities are surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil ponds, and provide western amenities without pretension.

Munduk village is in the heart of one of the most fertile fruit growing areas on the island. The Raw Foods Vacation will take place at the height of the fruit season. One finds exquisite rambutan, salak, papaya, mangosteen and much more. Munduk is just 5 km from Bestale village, known throughout Bali for having the best durians.
